I’m trying something new to keep everyone updated on the boys – since the twins were born I seem to have limited time to check emails (and have many that need to be replied to) and not enough hands to answer, much less dial, the phone – so my girlfriend Maeve came over today to help me set up the blog. Who am I kidding – she actually set it up for me (hope she remembers the passwords) and she was allowed to leave only after she fed the boys and changed a diaper or two! Thanks Maeve! I really appreciate all you have done for me, Chris and the boys.
Our story in nutshell . . . Chris and I are college sweethearts and have been married for over 10 years. We found out last September that we were expecting twins. After 39 weeks our sons, Zachary Sylvester and Alexander Dean, were born May 14. Zach arrived at 8:33 a.m. weighing 6 lbs, 6 oz and was 18 inches tall. His baby brother, Alex, was born a minute later at 8:34 a.m. weighing 6 lbs, 14 oz and was 18 1/2 inches tall. They are now well over 9 lbs each, which is a nice work out for the arms when carrying them in their car seats. Chris was great thru the entire pregnancy – he never missed an appointment other than a few of the NSTs towards the end. Even now that he went back to work 5 weeks ago, he gets up during the night to warm a bottle and clean a bum. If he doesn’t sleep at work in the lab, I’m pretty sure he must sleep on the way to and from work because he doesn’t get much sleep at home.
This brings us to ”I can’t believe that my Zachary and my Alexander will be 8 weeks old tomorrow!” There are moments it seems like a dream (with the occasional nightmare when they wake us with their screaming at 3 a.m.) rather than a reality that we have twin sons but I can’t imagine one without the other. We truly have been blessed with two beautiful baby boys.
